Resumo:The work discusses the practice of Tribal Bellydance in the city of Natal - Rio Grande do Norte, through the Shaman Tribal Company and the Shaman Tribal Studio. The Company, which has a nucleus in Piracicaba - São Paulo and a nucleus in Natal-RN, has been in business for 13 years and is the largest reference of style within the state. In the course of the text I present a historical map featuring Tribal Bellydance from the American Tribal Style (ATS) and Tribal Fusion (Tribal Fusion) styles that are the basis for the construction of this dance. I also mention the great dancers who over the years have contributed significantly to the spread of style throughout the world and in what we know today as Tribal Bellydance. The methodology of the study is a qualitative approach, of a descriptive nature based on a bibliographical review, experience report and interviews with dancers living in Natal-RN. From the reading of authors and researchers of the area it was possible to present the Tribal style in a consistent way, diluting the myths surrounding it and showing the elements and constituent aspects of this dance. The interviews contributed to the contextualization of the practice of this style in the city of Natal and showed how this dance can be a powerful manifestation of self-knowledge. As an evaluation for the study I observed the contributions that Tribal provides in the life of its practitioners, allowing them to access their particularities by bringing to their corporeity their emotions translated into movements.
