I aim to report and reflect on this experience, casting a glance at the dance as an educational opportunity, presenting a conception of knowledge that is consistent with what has been proposed by the French philosopher Merleau-Ponty (1994), a nontied knowledge to colleges of conscience, but closely related to the world of experiences, this perspective is the lived world that becomes the primary source of knowledge. Dance and education is interwoven in a transforming experience, capable of creating and experiencing a harsh reality with new meanings, in a poetic process of redefinition. Este trabalho desenvolveu-se a partir de minha experiência vivida no tocante ao ensino da dança em um projeto denominado Projeto Aviva Social, situado no bairro de Felipe Camarão, Zona Oeste da cidade de Natal/RN. Tenho como objetivo relatar e refletir sobre tal experiência, lançando um olhar sobre a dança como possibilidade educativa, apresentando uma concepção de conhecimento que vai de encontro ao que nos é proposto pelo filosofo francês Merleau-Ponty (1994), ou seja, um conhecimento não atado às faculdades da razão, mas intimamente relacionado ao mundo das experiências vividas, nessa perspectiva é o mundo vivido que torna-se a fonte primordial de conhecimento.
