Resumo: | The present work refers to an analysis of the video "Bluesman" by Brazilian
Rapper Baco Exu do Blues, linked on the Youtube streaming platform, on November
28, 2018. The film won the Grand Prix in June (2019 ), one of the most important of
the advertising market in the world, which took place in France, presenting a theme
of racial gender, generating a critique of representation in the media. The general
objective of this paper is to analyze the issue of black representation in the media,
especially Brazilian television, based on the narrative of the Bluesman video by
Brazilian artist Baco Exu do Blues, understanding his political role through the
semiotic analysis of audiovisual production and narrative discourse. As methodology
we perform bibliographic research through greimasian semiotic analysis. We also
favor audiovisual elements to understand more about the gender issues and
representation of black people arranged in the narrative. For theoretical support we
use Fiorin (2004), Barros (2005) and Greimas (2008) to address issues related to
notes related to semiotics, Bakthin apud Brait (2006) to understand the present
intertextuality and other authors who were valuable to establish and criticism of the
gender issue in Brazil through mass media. We use mass media, news clippings
generated by the mainstream media in Brazil and around the world, to understand
Bluesman's repercussions on international awards as well as the political role
established by the film's authors on the racial issue in Brazil. |
