| Resumo: | Madonna is a reference artist in many areas of art and music, and has been a success since her beggining in 1982, when she released her first album. Through decades, she has been a reference for countless social groups, especially minorities, giving voice and representation to them. In 2016, she won the “Woman of the Year” award for the Billboard event “Yomen in Music”, and held a thank you speech that was marked by impacting the audience by telling a bit of her life story and career as to the prejudice suffered in all these years. The repercussion generated in several of these social groups that she represents in the speech was the main reason for the analysis, because Madonna knew how to inspire those who go through so many obstacles in life, especially prejudice, helping them have focus, perseverance and hope by using herself as an example of success. The methodology used was a discourse analysis to understand intertexts, manipulation strategies and isotopes contained in the narrative based on some authors like Antunes and Zuin (2008), Greimas and Courtés (1989), Filinich (2005), Bakhtin (1984), Fiorin (1994), among others. |
