Resumo: | The present study aims to investigate the narrative of the Game of Thrones television series through the analysis of two characters' journeys, in order to identify a possible narrative rupture in the last two seasons. Our hypothesis is that as the series was moving towards its end, the characters began to act and present features that did not correspond to the development they'd had during the seasons, becoming incompatible with the internal coherence of the narrative. For this to be possible, after studying essential concepts such as character, narrative, narrative elements, structure of television series and cinematic language, a comparative analysis was developed based on the trajectory of the selected characters: Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. According to the research it was realized that there was indeed a break in the narrative coherence of the series and this affected its closure. |
