Resumo:Due to the low resolution of seismic data, well profiling and subsurface rock samples, similar models are used instead which can provide important parameters in the spatial distribution of elements such as fracture density, length, aperture and karstification understanding the arrangement of permo-porosity in 3D geological models and, thus, fill part of this technological gap. The prediction of these properties is directly related to the understanding of the occurrence of fractures, usually enlarged and linked by karst dissolution, which may positively or negatively impact hydrocarbon production. Following the mapping and description of the main sets of fractures and karst features in the outcrops of the Jandaíra Formation, located in the Apodi-Mossoró River Valley region, this study aims (i) the structural and karst characterization based on the application of the linear scanline method; (ii) understanding and description of these elements in the hinge zone of the Apodi anticline. Four main sets of fractures in the work area (NE-SW, NW-SE, NS and EW) were mapped and two most remarkable sets (NE-SW and NW-SE) were highlighted, which were associated with Apodi bending, with high concentration by the Apodi-Mossoró river. From an NW-SE 5-km linear scanline orthogonal to the Apodi bend axis, fractures attributes (density, length, aperture) of set 3 (NE-SW) were obtained focusing on the analysis and characterization of the structures from this local folding. Fractures enlarged by karst dissolution have openings greater than 4 m and more than 70 m in length with depths of up to 12 m, exposing rough textured walls and development of bugs in sedimentary stratifications and discontinuities. The occurrence of high permeability zones, established by the interconnection between the main sets of fractures and karst features (caves, dolines, pinnacles and collapsed blocks), favored the development of large fracture corridors parallel to the Apodi bend axis in the hinge region. This is an important structural and diagenetic element to be considered in geological models in folded, karstified and fractured carbonate reservoirs. The use of high resolution images (Drone/RPA) and direct access to the outcrops allowed the parameterization and correlation between these two elements, characterizing their spatial distribution in the outcrops of the Jandaíra Formation and contributing to a greater detail of the geological and flow models, which can be used as carbonate reservoir analogs, helping to optimize processes and reduce costs in the oil industry.
