Resumo: | The pegmatitic bodies studied in this work are located in the south of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in the city of Parelhas. They are inserted in the context of the Pegmatitic Province of Borborema, intruding on the metasediments of the Seridó Group. The main purpose of this work is to study the characteristics of the heterogeneous pegmatitic bodies that occur in this region, with the specific objective of presenting new data from cartography and basic geology of the sector, in order to contribute to the geological knowledge of the area and to future prospective works in the region. In addition, from the perspective of economic development, studies have sought to verify the potential of pegmatites in this region for lithium, using remote multisource tools that have been used lately to identify certain areas of economic interest, in addition to the correlation of these remote data with in situ occurrences of pegmatitic bodies and possible specific minerals, such as spodumene, for example. The mapping made it possible to observe mineralogical and structural aspects in 4 outcrops of pegmatites and their enclosures, in which an analysis of the contact relationships between these rocks was made, as well as a detailed description of the mineralogy of each of the zones of these heterogeneous pegmatites, enabling a broader characterization of the studied rocks. The remote sensing products helped to identify the spectral response of these visited pegmatites, enabling the identification of other bodies that showed similar behavior. Aerogeophysical products, on the other hand, helped to understand the structural context that covers the study area, through aeromagnetometric maps, in addition to bringing relevant chemical information through radioelement detections represented by aeroradiometric maps. The integration of these products provided a more complete understanding of the region's geology and helped in the recognition of the exploration potential of these rocks in the perspective of economic development. |
