Descrição
Resumo:The present study aims at the imaging of deposits of foredunes using techniques of acquisition and processing of geophysical data obtained with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). High-resolution, georeferenced photographs obtained with a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (ARP) assisted in the planning of geophysical acquisition, as well as in the interpretation of GPR profiles, since it allowed the correlation between surface morphologies and subsurface-imaged deposits. In the deposits of foredunes, as in the beach deposits, there are laminae and/or beds consisting of heavy minerals, predominantly ilmenite, magnetite, rutile, epidote and garnet, which are the main responsible for the perfect visibility of sedimentary features and the origin of the reflectors found in the GPR profiles. In the present work, 4 GPR lines were acquired, with an antenna of 200 Mhz, three obtained according to lines parallel to the direction of migration of the foredunes and one perpendicular to the shoreline. Based on the terminations and the pattern of the reflectors were interpreted beach deposits and wind deposits of foredunes. In the latter deposit, sedimentary structures, their geometries and reactivation surface were identified, which allowed the elaboration of a preliminary proposal of a model of foredunes and the elaboration of a relative chronostratigraphic framework of the deposits of the imaged area.
