Resumo:The seismic method of reflection has multidisciplinary applicability (geological, environmental, civil engineering, etc.), this technique allows to map the geological structures present in the subsurface , and it stands out as to the objectives due to its cost / benefit. In this work, a current conventional processing stream (processed by Landmark / Halliburton software: ProMAX / SeisSpace) is applied in an excerpt from a relatively old data (1979), with a low signal-to-noise ratio, in an attempt to show the image of the seismic section with resolution gain. For this purpose, three stages (concomitant with geological knowledge) are involved: acquisition, processing and interpretation. The acquisition of the data was part of a series of seismic reflection profiles of the IPOD (International Phase Ocean Drilling) project in the Atlantic Ocean, and it is located near the coast of Rio de Janeiro and in the vicinity of the Alto do Rio Grande, which geology is composed by a succession of pelagic carbonates intercalated with volcanogenic sediments and basalts typical of the ocean floor. The seismic processing complements the acquisition work and it treats the data to facilitate its interpretation. The processing stage objective is a seismic section that, through the data integration, is capable of identifying geological interfaces. This work shows how the data re-processing, using different processing flows, can generate additional information about the geological structures and features of exploratory interest for the site. In other words, step by step, considering the small changes related to the gain of resolution between, the re-processing reachs the goal of the applied processing stream.
