Resumo:The study initially presents a descriptive analysis of the socioeconomic profile of the students of the Course of Accounting Sciences of the Faculty of Seridó (FAS), where it is evidenced a predominance of females in said graduation, with the great majority of these students residing in the municipality of origin College and with a high percentage of age between the ages of 21 and 24 years. The passing rate of the students eligible to take the Federal Accounting Council (CFC) admission exam in the period from 2015.2 to 2016.1 is 16%. This study also presents and discusses questions related to the difficulties of these students in the subjects studied during the graduation and in the said examination of the CFC. In addition, it is observed that a considerable part of the students has, since high school, certain difficulties in dealing with subjects related to Mathematics. Inferential analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test and the Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test and showed statistical significance in some of the study variables.
