Background: The correlation between field tests and questionnaires used in the evaluation of functional capacity of individuals with cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is not yet clear in the literature. Objectives: To evaluate the functional capacity of patients with CVD according to the 6-minute Walk Test (6MWT) and the Incremental Walk Test (IWT), and the Duke Activity Status Index (DASI) and Human Activity Profile (HAP) questionnaires, and to verify the correlation between these instruments. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out with individuals with a diagnosis of CVD, age between 45 and 80 years, hemodynamic stability and absence of severe or decompensated cardiovascular conditions. The volunteers performed the 6MWT and IWT by randomization and the questionnaires were drawn and applied during the rest period between the tests. The Spearman correlation test was used for the correlation between the variables, being adopted a significance level p<0,005. Results: The sample consisted of 23 individuals, 26,08% male and 73,92% female, with a mean age of 61,47 ± 8,65 years. The distance traveled (DT) in the 6MWT was 434,43 ± 61,45 meters and in the IWT it was 267,78 ± 75,76 meters. The %DT on the 6MWT was higher in relation to the IWT (p=0.0002). There was a reduction in the functional capacity according to 6MWT, IWT and DASI, and there was a positive correlation between DASI and DT6MWT (p=0,0008, r=0,364), % DT6MWT (p=0,0008, r=0,284) and DTIWT (p=0,0081, r=0,537). Conclusion: The better the performance on the 6MWT and IWT, the higher the score on the DASI questionnaire and the better the functional capacity of patients with CVD. |

Fundamento: Ainda não está clara na literatura a correlação entre testes de campo e questionários utilizados na avaliação da capacidade funcional de indivíduos com doenças cardiovasculares (DCV). Objetivos: Avaliar a capacidade funcional de pacientes com DCV segundo o Teste de Caminhada de 6 Minutos (TC6M) e o Teste de Caminhada Incremental (TCI), e os questionários Duke Activity Status Index (DASI) e Perfil de Atividade Humana (PAH), e verificar a correlação entre estes instrumentos. Métodos: Estudo transversal realizado com indivíduos com diagnóstico de DCV, idade entre 45 e 80 anos, estabilidade hemodinâmica e ausência de condições cardiovasculares graves ou descompensadas. Os voluntários realizaram o TC6M e TCI mediante randomização e os questionários foram sorteados e aplicados durante o período de repouso entre os testes. O teste de correlação de Spearman foi utilizado para a correlação entre as variáveis, sendo adotado nível de significância p<0,005. Resultados: A amostra foi composta por 23 indivíduos, sendo 26,08% homens e 73,92% mulheres, com idade média de 61,47 ± 8,65 anos. A distância percorrida (DP) no TC6M foi 434,43 ± 61,45 metros e no TCI foi 267,78 ± 75,76 metros. A %DP no TC6M foi maior em relação ao TCI (p=0.0002). Houve redução da capacidade funcional segundo TC6M, TCI e DASI, e houve correlação positiva entre o DASI e a DPTC6M (p=0,0008, r=0,364), a %DPTC6M (p=0,0008, r=0,284) e a DPTCI (p=0,0081, r=0,537).
