Resumo:Law 14.026/2020 establishes nationais guidelines for the sanitation in Brazil, and has as it’s fundamental principle is the universalization of access and the effective service provision, however according to the National System of Information about Sanitation (SNIS), in 2019 only 43% of the brazilian population was served by a complete collective sanitary system with sewage collection and treatment. The situation is even worrisome in the Brazilian Northeast, a region in which the state of Rio Grande do Norte is located, in wich only 23,0% of the population is served with sewage services. Given this situation, this study aimed to design the collection network, and define the location of other elementes that composse the sanitary sewage system (lift stations, sewage treatment station and receiving body) for the urban área of Montanhas/RN. Therefore, initially, due to topographic characteristics, the study area was divided into sanitary sewage basins, and for each basin, the projects of the collection system and the respective dimensioning were elaborated in accordance with the current Technical Norms. In carrying out this project, the following activities were developed: bibliographic review; design of the collection system; dimensioning of collection networks; allocation of lifts and treatment stations and preparation of graphic plants for the project. As seen in the work, the entire urban region of the city was served, for a population with final sewages outflows of 10,071 l/s, with collection networks with average depths of less than 2 meters across the entire network, and a total extension of 27.855,03 meters, in addition to the determination of a viable location for the lift, sewage treatment station and definition of the body that will receive the effluents.
