Resumo:Adoption of alternative energy sources was the result of a number of factors, including environmental issues that made it an important tool for survival. Over the past decade studies were made to highlight economic and social aspects of renewable energy sources, all motivated by the need of gas emission reduction. The fossil fuel energy crisis unchained the search for safe supplying of energy, leading to the discovery of wind-generated energy as a great renewable source. Among its benefits, creation of new jobs and land lease were significant social contributions for the social environment in which they happen. In civil engineering, wind tower foundations are important elements of constructing wind farms, and it is through them that the efforts produced by the wind are transmitted to soil. The goal of this paper is to map the main constructive methods employed in the construction of Brazilian wind farms, using local projects on Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia as the study object. Furthermore, this paper also includes some predecessors and successive phases of the construction process, enabling broad vision of how wind farms are implanted. To reach this goal we followed three steps: initial research and theoretical data collection; description of processes containing images of each construction phase; creation of a general process flowchart. Wind technology advancements is deemed new and many regional factors can interfere on its execution. Thus, the work resulted in the demonstration of base processes, thus creating a general model for the construction of wind farms.
