Resumo:This work has as its theme musicking in public places and the moral disengagement of students from undergraduate courses offered by the Escola de Música do Rio Grande do Norte (EMUFRN). The work derives from research carried out by the Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Música(GRUMUS) - linked to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and registered in the CNPq Research Groups Directory -. Based on the data and literature, I delimited it as a research problem: can moral disengagement in music school students be a gap in the ethical training of EMURFN undergraduates? In order to seek to answer such a problem, I delimited th main objective of this work: to investigate the relationship between musical and moral engagement of students of undergraduate courses at the UFRN School of Music, based on their perspectives on musical practice in public places. I also outlined as specific objectives: 1) to analyze data related to undergraduate students and 2) to reflect on sound ethics/ethics in EMUFRN music graduation. The work is anchored in the propositions of Bandura (2007), Bowman (2020), Goffman (2010) and Small (1998). It is configured, methodologically, as an intersectional survey based on the internet. Through a self-administered online questionnaire, data were collected from 162 students. From the results related to / to undergraduate students, I noticed the presence of at least one mechanism of moral disengagement in 92.9% of the sample (n = 85). With this study, I hope to contribute to and reflect on ethics and sound ethics in the training of musicians
