Resumo:Non-formal education has been the subject of study in several academic papers, because it is more and more presented as a significant context for society, considering that in these spaces the concept is to qualify individuals to become citizens, creating spaces to develop knowledge about the world and social relations. Social projects are part of this context, and music is a substantial ally for the progress of this kind of work, due to the important role for the socialization of individuals and human formation. As an aftermath of the process, we can consider music making as a possible professional choice by young people and adults who experience music education in these projects. From this consideration, we had the motivation to investigate the theme starting with the Musical Waves Musicalization Project, developed by the Brazilian Navy and subordinated to the 3rd DN (Third Naval District). The objective of this research is to understand the influence of the Project on the perception of students aged 16 to 23 years old apropos their future career choices. The research was characterized as a case study, whose data collection was initially done the application of surveys, and from this, it was possible to select three students to contribute to expand the investigation through responses to semi-structured interviews. As a result, we realized that the Project has presented new possibilities to its students, influencing, in fact, their notions in relation to the professional future.
