This present paper discusses the importance of music education in the context of the Third Sector, bringing to practice a study of case which is about a NGO named, Atitude Cooperação that is located on the west side of the city of Natal- RN, in the neighborhood of Bom Pastor. The NGO has existed since 2006 and receives financial support from Unimed Natal as well as other partners such as the schools of the neighborhood. It has presented a good development in various projects and programs which aim to improve the social life quality of the neighborhood. One of the highlight projects is Tocando a Vida com D’Amore that started on the year of 2011 and currently has 121 students that are studying music. It was chosen as theoretical reference some authors as: Kleber (2006); Bozon (2000); Correia (2010); Schaller (2005); Hudson (1999); Falconer (1999). Com o crescimento do Terceiro Setor nas últimas décadas e tendo se ramificado por diversas áreas de carência da sociedade atual, podemos destacar a forte ascensão dos projetos sociais, ligados a ONGs e outras instituições que focam o ensino da música contextualizado com o universo sociocultural que esteja inserido. Esse presente trabalho aborda a importância da educação musical no contexto do Terceiro Setor, trazendo para a prática um estudo de caso na ONG Atitude Cooperação atuante no bairro de Bom Pastor localizado na zona oeste da cidade de Natal- RN. A ONG existe desde 2006 e conta com o apoio financeiro da Unimed Natal além de outros parceiros como as escolas do próprio bairro. Vem apresentando um bom desempenho em diversos projetos e programas voltados para melhoria da qualidade de vida da comunidade do bairro, se destacando com o projeto de música Tocando a Vida com D’Amore. Esse projeto teve início no ano de 2011 e atualmente agrega 121 alunos que se dedicam ao estudo da música.
