Resumo:The monograph work is an experience of music teaching in non-formal environments, aiming to show the musical education as an instrument of mediation for social inclusion. Took up as reference this kind of environment the Centre for Child Support, where musical activities are offered for children and teenagers in the community of the neighborhood Quintas, Natal / RN. Specifically, it was reported the development process of the lessons of the fanfare band, flute and music theory for a class of heterogeneous children and teenagers. It describes the pedagogical challenges of payment of musical theory and practice, as well as potentiate the music as an instrument for learning mediation. The research was based on studies in Béscia (2002), Campos (2008), Morais (2009), Hikiji (2006), Arroyo (2000) and other authors who contribute to the understanding of non-formal space as a socialization place, social inclusion. The Data were collected through qualitative research, based on experience as a student and teacher in this environment. In conclusion the research found that the non-formal spaces nurture the musical learning, in fact, an instrument integrator student in the social environment.
