Resumo:This research aimed to investigate the work developed in the São Tomé Philharmonic, seeking to highlight the teaching methodology used in the preparation of students and musicians of the band, besides investigating whether the methodology in use contributed to the development of its members. The choice of the object of this study was due to the proximity of the researcher to the group in question, since she participates in it from the beginning of her musical studies to the present day when she performs the function of conductor. The methodological procedures used, correspond to the qualitative approach and to the case study, and as tools to perform data collection were used semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, participant observation, in addition to research records in photos, audio recordings and social media posts. The results obtained revealed that the interactions constructed in the activities developed by the group enabled the development both musical and interpersonal among all involved.
