Resumo:This paper is a report of an analysis of a teaching and collective learning experience around the accordion, which was developed in an Extension Course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN in Natal – RN, in this analysis, access to practical and theoretical musical knowledge by way of the accordion was addressed. The report takes intro account the prior knowledge that students bring with them, so that this could be used as a bridge to the assimilation of new knowledge. Bibliographical research, systematic exploration of the accordion and its techniques were the unifying methodological principles essential to our experience report. Another issue addressed in this work was the rescue of the traditional repertoire of the northeastern popular culture, they were slowly being forgotten due to the current interests of the national phonograph market with this teaching and learning the accordion were highlighted in the academic realm, thus helping to fill this gap in the field of Music Education.
