The main objective of this thesis work is to present the teaching practice of a student of Bachelor of Music UFRN working with the Band Agricultural School of Jundiaí. The specific objectives are given in reflecting on learning music group; meet leading members wanting to join the band; the practice motivations; the objectives that the band has within the school and discuss the space and the activity influence the professional and educational background of the students, and reveal the real desire for musical learning. For this, show them works of Rosin (2003), Campos (2008), Cislaghi (2011) and Silva (2012) that expose and discuss, beyond history and social function bands and fanfares, the musical student learning through case studies and interviews with participants of these activities, reflecting what this means in practice professionalism as the music and the design of musical knowledge by working groups. The achievements revolve around the fact that musical practice remains active in school and that has given a great social interaction as well as a significant musical learning for participants. A prática musical com as bandas tem demonstrado ser um grande agente socializador para seus participantes como aponta Campos (2008, p. 107) ao dizer que “vínculos são formados a partir da relação que os participantes estabelecem uns com os outros e com a música – vínculos baseados na amizade, no reconhecimento, na disciplina e no prazer proporcionado pela prática musical”. O objetivo principal deste trabalho de monografia é apresentar a prática docente de um aluno do Curso de Licenciatura em Música da UFRN que trabalha com a Banda da Escola Agrícola de Jundiaí. Os objetivos específicos são refletir sobre a aprendizagem musical do grupo; conhecer o que leva os integrantes a quererem participar da banda; as motivações da prática; os objetivos que a banda possui dentro da escola e discutir se o espaço e a atividade influenciam na formação profissional e educacional dos alunos, além de revelar o real desejo pelo aprendizado musical. Para isso, evidenciam-se os trabalhos de Rosin (2003), Campos (2008), Cislaghi (2011) e Silva (2012) que expõem e discutem, além da história e função social de bandas e fanfarras, o aprendizado musical dos alunos através de estudos de caso e entrevistas com os participantes dessas atividades, refletindo o que essa prática significa na profissionalização quanto à música e na concepção do conhecimento musical trabalhado pelos grupos.
