In 2019, the health budget lost 13.6 billion. Considering the resources authorized at the beginning of 2020, of almost R$ 5 million below the previous floor, the estimated loss between 2018 and 2020 is R$ 22.5 billion (MORETTI, B.,FUNCIA, F.R.,OCKÉ-REAIS, 2020).PROBLEM: Given the scenario presented, it is evident the importance of research that presents strategies and tools to help the health area improve its performance, and, consequently, reduce costs. The use of Lean Healthcare (LH) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS), in health management, can serve as a strong ally of this proposal. It was from this perspective that the desire to teach the application of LSS and LH emerged in the care area, focusing on improving the performance of Brazilian University Hospitals. Lean principles are aimed at improving the quality of patient care. Its goal is to eliminate waste and ensure greater attention in the provision of care, through the system of continuous improvement. OBJECTIVES: To develop a self-intrusion course in a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) through the use of Design Thinking and that contemplates the steps for the implementation of best tools and practices of the lean healthcare and lean methodology Six Sigma in Hospitals The course presents the fundamental principles of Six Lean Sigma that underpin modern approaches to continuous improvement in health. METHODOLOGY: Methodological approach used in the construction of the course was Design Thinking, which helped us in the immersion and understanding of essential parameters and standards to create better quality solutions through four stages: immersion (understanding), ideation (creation), prototypical (test) and development (application). From this result, the prototype of the course was developed. The theoretical framework brought subsidies to direct the content to the problems of health care management, widely reported in the scientific production of the area. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The course proposal was developed with a view to taking a new look at managers, focusing on solving some recurrent problems in care. That is, the course did not propose to solve such problems, but to show how Lean principles can contribute to the development of solutions. In order to be an initial and strongly motivational formation, the course content did not show all the tools that could help in the various management routines, and further studies were needed to identify all the possibilities of application of the lean methodology. This study was designed to improve the efficiency and operational efficacy of hospitals, when correctly learned and implemented by managers.

ESTADO DA ARTE: Tanto no âmbito internacional quanto nacional, a saúde encontra dificuldades em sua gestão, entre os maiores problemas enfrentados estão a escassez de recursos financeiros nos últimos anos. Em 2019, o orçamento da saúde perdeu 13.6 bilhões. Considerando os recursos autorizados no início de 2020, de quase R$ 5 milhões abaixo do piso anterior, a perda estimada entre 2018 e 2020 é de R$ 22.5 bilhões (MORETTI, B., FUNCIA, F.R., OCKÉ-REAIS, 2020). PROBLEMA: Frente ao cenário apresentado, fica evidente a importância de pesquisas que apresentem estratégias e ferramentas para auxiliar a área de saúde a melhorar seu desempenho, e, consequentemente, reduzir custos. O uso de Lean Healthcare (LH) e Lean Six Sigma (LSS), na gestão da saúde, pode servir como forte aliado desta proposta. Foi nessa perspectiva que surgiu o desejo de ensinar a aplicação do LSS e LH, na área assistencial, com foco na melhoria do desempenho dos Hospitais Universitários Brasileiros. Os princípios Lean estão voltados para a melhoria na qualidade da assistência aos pacientes. Seu objetivo é eliminar desperdícios e assegurar maior atenção na prestação de cuidados, por meio do sistema de melhoria contínua. OBJETIVOS: Desenvolver um curso autointrucional em um Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA) através do uso do Design Thinking e que contemple os passos para a implementação de melhores ferramentas e práticas da metodologia lean healthcare e lean Six Sigma em Hospitais O curso apresenta os princípios fundamentais do Lean Six Sigma que sustentam as abordagens modernas de melhoria contínua na saúde. METODOLOGIA: Abordagem metodológica utilizada na construção do curso foi o Design Thinking, que nos auxiliou na imersão e no entendimento de parâmetros e padrões essenciais para criar soluções de melhor qualidade através de quatro etapas: imersão (entendimento), ideação (criação), prototípico (teste) e desenvolvimento (aplicação). A partir desse resultado, o protótipo do curso foi desenvolvido. O referencial teórico trouxe subsídios para direcionar o conteúdo aos problemas da gestão da assistência à saúde, extensamente relatados na produção científica da área. RESULTADOS E DISCUSSÃO: A proposta do curso foi desenvolvida na perspectiva de levar um novo olhar para os gestores, com foco na resolução de alguns problemas recorrentes na assistência. Ou seja, o curso não se propôs a resolver tais problemas, mas em mostrar como os princípios Lean podem contribuir para o desenvolvimento de soluções. Com intuito de ser uma formação inicial e de caráter fortemente motivacional, o conteúdo do curso não evidenciou todas as ferramentas que poderiam auxiliar nas diversas rotinas gerenciais, sendo necessários novos estudos para identificar todas as possibilidades de aplicação da metodologia enxuta.
