description This thesis has as object of study the school subject Drawing in the scope of the Professional Education. Our objective was to understand the role of the subject of Drawing in the formation for the work in the School of Artistic Apprentices of Rio Grande do Norte. The time cut researched began with the creation of the professional institution in the state of Potiguar, in 1909, by Decree No. 7,566 of the Federal Government, and continued until the change of name of this institution, in 1937, which is now called the Industrial High School of Natal. The work is inserted in the field of the History of Education, more specifically in the interface of the domains of the History of School Subjects, the History of Professional Education and the History of Mathematics Education. The research is based on the theoretical perspective of French historiography, with notions of the New Cultural History according to Roger Chartier, representations, practices, circulation of ideas and appropriation, and with conceptions of the History of Disciplines according to André Chervel. With regard to the methodological foundations, we approach the classical historical method according to Jörn Rüsen. Our sources are bibliographical and documental, the latter consisting of sets of legal, administrative, pedagogical and public order. We defend that the discipline Desenho was constituted, in the scope of Professional Education, from ideas in circulation in the world and in Brazil, with the representation that understood it as a basis for the formation of labor for work and, throughout its history as a school discipline, went through a change of this status. Throughout the text we have come to the confirmation of this thesis, because through the appropriation of different ideas in circulation by the actors of Brazilian professional education who assume protagonism during the temporal cutout, the discipline Desenho goes through a displacement of its initial role of relevance. Thus, the Drawing is being reconfigured, starting its trajectory as an allied to the intuitive method in the search for education of the senses, of the hand and of the gaze, spreading drawing to the natural and to the free hand, becoming intrinsically linked to Geometry, becoming a Geometric Drawing with the intention of representing the object with precision and perfection, and ending up as a Technical Drawing itself, emphasizing itself in the alliance between theory and practice, thus having its status in the context of Professional Education shifted to the division of protagonism with another discipline.

A presente tese tem por objeto de estudo a disciplina escolar Desenho no âmbito da Educação Profissional. Nosso objetivo foi compreender o papel da disciplina Desenho na formação para o trabalho na Escola de Aprendizes Artífices do Rio Grande do Norte. O recorte temporal pesquisado tem início com a criação da instituição profissional no estado potiguar, no ano de 1909, pelo Decreto n° 7.566 do Governo Federal, e prolonga-se até a mudança de denominação desta instituição, em 1937, que passa a ser chamada de Liceu Industrial de Natal. O trabalho está inserido no campo da História da Educação, mais especificadamente na interface dos domínios da História das Disciplinas Escolares, da História da Educação Profissional e da História da Educação Matemática. A pesquisa tem como fundamento teórico a perspectiva historiográfica francesa, com as noções da Nova História Cultural segundo Roger Chartier, representações, práticas, circulação de ideias e apropriação, e com as concepções de História das Disciplinas segundo André Chervel. Com relação aos fundamentos metodológicos, abordamos o método histórico clássico segundo Jörn Rüsen. Nossas fontes são bibliográfica e documental, tendo as últimas compostas por conjuntos de ordem legal, administrativa, pedagógica e pública. Defendemos que a disciplina Desenho se constituiu, no âmbito da Educação Profissional, a partir de ideias em circulação no mundo e no Brasil, com a representação que a entendia como base da formação de mão-de-obra para o trabalho e, ao longo de sua história como disciplina escolar, passou por uma alteração desse status. Ao longo do texto chegamos à confirmação dessa tese, pois mediante a apropriação de diferentes ideias em circulação pelos atores da educação profissional brasileira que assumem protagonismo durante o recorte temporal a disciplina Desenho passa por um deslocamento de seu papel inicial de relevância. Assim, o Desenho vai sendo reconfigurado, iniciando sua trajetória enquanto aliado ao método intuitivo na busca pela educação dos sentidos, da mão e do olhar, difundindo o desenho ao natural e à mão livre, passando a ser intrinsecamente ligado à Geometria, tornando-se um Desenho Geométrico com intenção de representar o objeto com precisão e perfeição, e termina como um Desenho Técnico propriamente dito, enfatizando-se na aliança entre a teoria e a prática, desse modo tendo seu status no contexto da Educação Profissional deslocado para divisão do protagonismo com outra disciplina. 2021-06-23T17:17:32Z 2021-06-23T17:17:32Z 2021-02-26 doctoralThesis SILVA, Juan Carlo da Cruz.
