Resumo:Parasitology and Medical Entomology teachers have identified difficulties on teaching-learning processes and opportunities to elaborate new teaching materials. Thus, we had engaged in interdisciplinary efforts between Biology and Informatics to develop teaching materials in paper and in digital format, accessed through computer and internet: a virtual atlas to support practical classes; a virtual identification key to guide and support students during taxonomic identification; and an educational game to promote students’ curiosity while they have fun. Grounded in Semiotic and Communication theory, we discuss aspects of some medias used in the production of teaching materials that influence their diffusion and knowledge access. In particular, we analyze what can be explored in the migration from paper to digital world (computer + internet). We conclude with reflections about our interdisciplinary collaboration, ways to appropriate the potential of digital technologies in education, and access problems to digital technology.
