And must to perform the following main objectives to the users: protection from external factors, functionality for tasks and identification; but also provide comfort. Due to its importance, there are scientific efforts in studies focused on this theme, mainly in the institutions of the armed forces. However, there are few studies on the functionality and comfort of uniforms used by the Military Police. This fact fosters a scenario of scarcity of knowledge about the characteristics of structural and ergonomic attributes of these uniforms, and their relationship in the different situations experienced by the PMs (climate, social and work performance). Therefore, this research aims to characterize the structural, colorimetric and mechanical properties of the Military Police uniforms in the Brazilian states Minas Gerais (MG), Rio Grande do Norte (RN) and Santa Catarina (SC), investigating how suitable they are for conjuncture of the PM's work activities, and to analyze the perception of the military police in the state of RN. For this, several tests were carried out on specimens from each state to characterize the structural, colorimetric and mechanical properties; and PMRN agents were interviewed using a self-administered questionnaire to investigate the perception of comfort, protection and satisfaction. As a result, it was possible to verify structural similarity between the PMMG and PMSC uniforms, and some significant differences regarding the PMRN; in the behavior of the tissues in the mechanical properties, the PMRN obtained greater resistance and elongation; the satisfactory performance in dry fastness and dry friction and unsatisfactory in wet friction fastness for the three uniforms; and that there was a loss of color after washing.. From the perspective of PMRN agents, they reported feeling dissatisfied and unprotected with the current uniform, having a negative perception in most aspects of comfort, protection and satisfaction. Such results demonstrated that these garments are closer to conventional fabrics, and cannot be considered technical textiles and also do not meet the demands of the PM. Regarding the specific uniform of the PMRN, it is possible to indicate that it is not yet adequate and does not have functionalities, and that there is a need for further studies and improvements to meet these aspects and ergonomic requirements.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES O vestuário voltado aos profissionais para execução de suas atividades laborais é denominado de fardamento ou uniforme. No caso do vestuário militar, essa indumentária é a representação e símbolo oficial dos soldados (as) das Forças Armadas, expressando os valores, tradição, hierarquia e disciplina em cada uma das instituições, como na Polícia Militar. E deve atender aos militares cumprindo os seguintes objetivos: proteção de fatores externos, funcionalidade para tarefas e identificação, além de proporcionar conforto. Devido a sua importância verificase diversas investigações científicas relacionadas a essa temática, principalmente nas instituições das Forças Armadas. Entretanto, há poucos estudos sobre a funcionalidade e conforto de fardamentos utilizados pela Polícia Militar. Esse fato fomenta a um cenário de escassez de conhecimento sobre as características de atributos estruturais e ergonômicos desses fardamentos, e a sua relação nas diferentes circunstâncias vivenciadas pelos PMs (clima, social e desempenho laboral). Diante disso, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo caracterizar as propriedades estruturais, colorimétricas e mecânicas dos fardamentos da Polícia Militar dos estados brasileiros Minas Gerais (MG), Rio Grande do Norte (RN) e Santa Catarina (SC), investigando o quão adequados estão para conjuntura das atividades laborais da PM, e analisar a percepção dos policiais militares do estado do RN. Para isso, foram realizados diversos ensaios nos exemplares de cada estado para caracterizar as propriedades estruturais, colorimétricas e mecânicas; e os agentes da PMRN foram entrevistados por meio de um questionário auto administrado com intuito de investigar a percepção sobre conforto, proteção e satisfação. Como resultados, foi possível verificar similaridade estrutural entre os fardamentos da PMMG e PMSC, e algumas diferenças significativas quanto ao da PMRN; no comportamento dos tecidos nas propriedades mecânicas, o da PMRN obteve maior resistência e alongamento; o desempenho satisfatório na solidez à lavagem e à fricção seco e insatisfatório para solidez à fricção úmido para os três fardamentos; e que houve perda de cor após a lavagem. Na perspectiva dos agentes da PMRN, relataram se sentirem insatisfeitos e desprotegidos com o fardamento atual, tendo percepção negativa na maioria dos aspectos de conforto, proteção e satisfação. Tais resultados demonstraram que essas indumentárias estão mais próximas de tecidos convencionais, não podendo ser consideradas têxteis técnicos e também não atendendo as demandas da PM.
