Resumo:This dissertation assesses the public education policy of Macaíba / RN implemented in the Black Rural Community of Capoeiras located in the municipality. Capoeiras is a quilombola rural community and, therefore, the effectiveness of the municipality's educational policy was evaluated from the perspective of ethnic-cultural diversity. Education policies, in their universalist dimension, even if they achieve the objectives of including all of them in the educational system, will not be effective if, in their formulation and implementation, they fail to incorporate the dimension of ethnic-cultural diversity that constitutes training. Brazilian social system. Based on this assumption, public policies and ethno-cultural diversity are the theme of this work, which has as its object the performance of the State within the Capoeiras community, as well as assessing the extent to which the municipality's educational policy has incorporated ethnic specificities. and cultural aspects in educational programs and practices. The research demonstrated that the educational policy of the municipality of Macaíba has not incorporated the ethnic and cultural specificities of the Capoeiras community in its effectiveness, reproducing the denial which means not taking into account the diversity that constitutes Brazilian society, which entails, in relation to the residents of the community, the reproduction of situations and practices of prejudice and racial discrimination.
