The mentioned method is intended to be employed as a structural compatibility tool in multiscale structural optimization methods, providing physical consistency to designed structures, allowing them to be manufacturable, and preventing performance loss due to post-processing changes. A computational code - based on trimmed NURBS surfaces – was implemented and used to perform numerical simulations of compatibly designed adjacent microstructural domains. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method. Este trabalho propõe um método com formulação baseada em NURBS para projetar interfaces de domínios microestruturais distintos adjacentes. O referido método pode ser empregado como uma ferramenta de compatibilidade estrutural em métodos de otimização estrutural multiescala, conferindo consistência física para as estruturas projetadas, permitindo que elas sejam fabricáveis, além de evitar a perda de performance devida a eventuais alterações durante o pósprocessamento. Um código computacional – com formulação baseada em superfícies NURBS recortadas – foi implementado e usado para realizar simulações numéricas de domínios microestruturais adjacentes projetados com compatibilidade.
