Resumo:The so-called subject philosophy underwent a conceptual redefinition process in the last two decades of the twentieth century. The subjective relationship to oneself abandons the most general determinations of the term “subject” and it is conceptually radicalized into several subjectivation processes and modes. Thus, subjectivity determination systems acquire several varying formats. The relationship to oneself, or the work on oneself, gets stronger due to multiple records, modeling systems and strata. In light of the foregoing, the aim of the present thesis is to highlight the literary writing experience as a possible subjectivation mode. Therefore, the hypothesis to be defended is that writing is a privileged place for the emergence of subjectivation processes. In order to accomplish this goal, the current research addresses writers’ direct testimony about their experiences with their own literary creation acts. Writers’ reflections are taken into consideration to help better understanding the emergence of subjectivation modes during the act of writing. Thus, diaries and letters are documents revealing the reflection about, and the appropriation of, the work on oneself that takes place during the writing process. The starting point lies on Flaubert’s famous correspondence, whose analysis aims at better understanding the way the experience of writing can be configured as a possible subjectivation mode. Next, Kafka’s diaries are taken as a document in which writing and subjective processes are intrinsically associated with each other. Finally, the study addresses Italo Calvino’s reflections about the possibility of writing without the inflection of a given self in order to thematize a possible reterritorialization of literature.
