Obtenção, caracterização e aplicação de um compósito com resina poliéster e carga de pó de cimento

The processes for obtaining and characterizing polymeric composites with resin (R) polyester and cement filler (C) were studied. The composites were defined by the mass ratio between cement and resin: C1 - 1.0 R + 0.25 C, C2 - 1.0 R + 0.50 C, C3 - 1.0 R + 0.75 C and C4 - 1.0 R + 1.0 C. The manufa...

Descrição
Resumo:The processes for obtaining and characterizing polymeric composites with resin (R) polyester and cement filler (C) were studied. The composites were defined by the mass ratio between cement and resin: C1 - 1.0 R + 0.25 C, C2 - 1.0 R + 0.50 C, C3 - 1.0 R + 0.75 C and C4 - 1.0 R + 1.0 C. The manufacturing method used was closed molding by cold wet compression. Such composites were characterized to determine their mechanical, thermal, density, water absorption and aging properties. The most economically viable composite was C4. It was found that the cement had a filling load function. All composites showed lower mechanical strengths than the matrix, with a proportional decrease with the increase in the amount of cement powder, with a 50% loss in traction, 78% in flexion and 11.54% in impact for the C4. As an application of the produced material, a 1.5 m2 table and a bench with the composite C4 were manufactured. The cost of manufacturing the artificial stone of the table was lower than that of marble or granite, which demonstrated the economic viability of applying the proposed composite.
