Resumo: | Pile caps are structural elements routinely present in civil constructions. In order to improve the
understanding of their structural behavior, are presented experimental studies results of two pile caps reinforced concrete. To complement the results, a numerical simulation based on the finite element method considering nonlinear behavior of materials was developed. Results on the ultimate load supported by the specimens, crack, stress distribution on the compression strut, and relation force versus displacement are presented. It was found that the existence of secondary reinforcement increases the bearing capacity of pile caps, as well the numerical simulations show that the models have higher stiffness compared to experimental results. |
