Resumo:Titanium is one of the most widely used materials for the manufacture of biomedical devices and therefore goes through a series of thermal processes and / or mechanics who aim to solve problems often associated with the manufacturing process. Heat treatment can significantly alter their properties by creating or relieving residual stresses in the material and consequently altering the biological response of these. It is known from the literature that growth and cell proliferation are strongly influenced by the characteristics of the surface to which the culture was performed. In this work, different heat treatments were performed on commercially pure titanium in order to study its influence on the behavior of pre-osteoblastic cells -MC373-E1, when cultured on the surface thereof. In general, samples treated in a greater degree of "aggression" had more cells than those with lower "aggressiveness "
