In this perspective, different themes will be addressed throughout the work: the formats of political participation of these women in Guinea Bissau, their relationship with the liberation struggle, the reverberation that this female presence had for contemporary generations of women organized in UDEMU, the emergence of this organization, its operation, principles and objectives. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES Este trabalho, intitulado “Mulheres da UDEMU e experiências de vida: da luta da libertação à participação política” busca contribuir com uma leitura de gênero da participação política feminina na Guiné-Bissau, a partir da análise de alguns aspectos biográficos de mulheres da União Democrática das Mulheres de Guiné e Cabo-Verde (UDEMU), primeira organização feminina do país.
