| Resumo: | This these, entitled “Women from UDEMU and life experiences: from the struggle for
liberation to political participation” seeks to contribute to a gender reading of female political
participation in Guinea-Bissau, based on the analysis of some biographical aspects of women
in the Democratic Union Guinea and Cape Verde (UDEMU), the country's first women's
organization. In this perspective, different themes will be addressed throughout the work: the
formats of political participation of these women in Guinea Bissau, their relationship with the
liberation struggle, the reverberation that this female presence had for contemporary
generations of women organized in UDEMU, the emergence of this organization, its operation,
principles and objectives. |
