Resumo:The use of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) in Distance Education has generated a growing volume of data from interactions among the actors in this process. The distance tutor is the actor responsible for mediating the students' learning process and for promoting interaction in the VLEs. The volume of data generated from these interactions, if roperly exploited, can provide an understanding of the relationship of influence among the distance tutors' performance and the effective participation of students in VLEs. In this context, this paper presents an ontology for the recommendation of actions that seek to promote the effective participation of students in AVAs
