This work studies AIDS as a metaphor and I advocate the use of metaphors as an analysis tool
practiced by the author Susan Sontag (2007). I interact in the first-person presenting some
reactive doses of the poetic representations of AIDS in the Performing Arts and how they
interact with intrinsic elements to a culture characterized by male dominance, by the social
disparities between the boundaries of gender, class, and race. I venture on the notion of “postcocktail” created by Alexandre Nunes (2015). I begin with a reflective report of the field
experiences that were carried out between 2018 and 2019 and their reverberations on this
research in the practical and theoretical field. I experiment reading the “Programa
Perfomativo” by the author Eleonora Fabião (2013) from the composition in Performance. I
discuss the role of HIV-positive artists in AIDS’ narratives addressing the notion of “postcocktail” as a possible representation for the discursive examination of the epidemic in the
Performing Arts in Brazil. This representation dialogues with the idea of “Epidemia
Discursiva” reflected by Marcelo Secron Bessa (1997), both appear in the literary field, being
contaminated here in a context in which the epidemic is thought in the Performing Arts,
especially in Performance. I challenge the use of a post-cocktail perspective at the Performing
Arts exemplifying how this notion influences the interpretation of the creative processes from
HIV-positive artists. I end this work with the description of “Práticas Contaminadas”, the
last topic that gathers the activities still under analysis on the artistic, pedagogical and
informative practices of the research in progress. |

I end this work with the description of “Práticas Contaminadas”, the last topic that gathers the activities still under analysis on the artistic, pedagogical and informative practices of the research in progress.
