Resumo:Starting from the hegemony of the Will to anchor the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860), this research has as its purpose the presentation of how the human existence may be considered absurd, once being based on a will to live that has no goal as far as it has no reason. The understanding of an absurd existence comes from an interpretation offered by Clément Rosset (1939 – 2018) about Schopenhauer’s philosophy, according to which the author reveals that willing – phenomenal manifestation of the Will – is the center towards which converge all of existential incongruities. However, on the other side of the supremacy of the Will, we must also explain some questions concerning the representation, considering that our astonishment for the absurd character of existence rises just in the context of the phenomenal world by the means of which can human beings become aware of it. In such way we use, mostly, The World as Will and Representation (3rd ed. 1859), by Schopenhauer, and, Schopenhauer, Philosophe l’Absurde (2nd ed. 1994), by Rosset.
