Resumo:The objective of this work is to study the contribution of the experience in the Roda de Choro to the formation of the popular Brazilian musician in line with the author's academic-artistic professional practice. A qualitative research was conducted to identify and understand important aspects of Rodas de Choro based on the oral transmission to obtain significant performance. The contextualization with authors, teachers and interviewed nationally renowned performers allowed identifying specific characteristics inherent to the collective practices of the Rodas de Choro, and their contribution to the training of the professional musician. The study highlights the importance of the activity of the collaborator solo performer who, when performing the solo, assists accompanying musicians in the formation and expansion of the repertoire. The instrumental perception, from its practice with media devices to its application in the Roda de Choro, is highlighted in this contributory approach, alongside the transcription action as a full audio transcriptionist.
