Resumo: | This study aimed to build the proposition of nursing diagnosis Ineffective peripheral
venous return in adult patients with cardiovascular clinical conditions directed to the
taxonomy NANDA International, Inc. This is a methodological study, operationalized
by the model of Lopes, Silva and Araújo (2012). To achieve the objectives proposed
in this study, a concept analysis was performed, adapted from the model proposed
by Walker and Avant (2019) and operationalized through an integrative review,
according to Whittemore Knalfl (2005). The search in the literature took place
between February and June 2019, by a pair of researchers on the same days and
places, in different computers, without communication until the crossing was
exhausted, according to the protocol built for this review. The following data sources
were used: Science Direct, Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health
Literature (Cinahl), Pubmed (Public Medline), Cochrane, Web of Science and the
Virtual Health Library (VHL). We opted for an advanced, uncontrolled search through
the use of the keyword: “Peripheral” and the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and
Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) indexed descriptors, “Venous Insufficiency”,
“Lower Extremity ”and“ Leg ”. Inclusion criteria were studies available in full in the
selected databases, in Portuguese, English and / or Spanish, and answering the
guiding questions of the research. Articles that do not answer the guiding question,
which were not available in full and electronically in the databases, editorials, letters
to the editor, abstracts and expert opinions were excluded. Articles were counted
only once. In the initial search, 24,559 studies were found, which through screening,
application of the inclusion and exclusion criteria and thorough reading totaled the
final sample of 131 publications. The analysis of the articles allowed us to identify the
components of the nursing diagnosis Ineffective peripheral venous return in adult
patients with cardiovascular clinical conditions, identifying the definition, attributes,
antecedents and consequences of the diagnostic focus in question. It can be
concluded that the obtained data can support the construction of ND Ineffective
peripheral venous return by proposing a definition for the diagnostic label and
identifying 9 defining characteristics, four related factors, three populations at risk
and four associated conditions. Finally, we highlight the improvement of the
taxonomy made possible by offering a DE that addresses the human responses
presented by this group of patients, until then incipient. |
