description This dissertation deals with the work of the social worker in primary care, particularly the Extended Family Health and Primary Care Center (NASF AB). It is assumed that, as a salaried worker, the social work professional also viscerally suffers from societal transformations and their implications for the working class. Taking as its research locus the NASF AB from the city of Natal / RN, its objective is to analyze the work of the social worker of the Extended Family Health and Primary Care Center (NASF AB) highlighting the particularities and challenges of the profession within primary care in the municipality of Natal - RN. Based on the critical dialectical method, we seek to problematize the paths taken towards the renewal of Primary Care in Brazil in Brazil, based on the process of institutionalization of health as a public policy and universal law, as well as the recent insertion of Social Work. in this space and the conditions under which this insertion has been materialized. In order to support the theoretical and methodological analyzes, the following data collection techniques were performed: the field research, through semi-structured interviews with social workers inserted in NASF AB, the bibliographic review, which followed the whole process of conducting this study, and the documentary research that involved the analysis of normative documents related to the researched question. After analysis, it is possible to apprehend that the work of the social worker at NASF AB is crossed by precariousness, which becomes structural in contemporary capitalism, expressing itself in these spaces, among other ways, in salary, overload and excess demands, besides lack of institutional support to the teams and difficulties in building spaces for case discussion. It also suffers counter-reforms in health policy, which although public, has been configured as a selective and focused policy, especially primary care, which has been presented as a “package of measures for the poor” who do not access health through Marketplace. In the researched spaces, we identified the social worker as a “differentiated” supporter specialist, since, through his formation anchored in the Brazilian Movement of Sanitary Reform and the Ethical-Political Project, it allows him to understand the social determinants of health that affect the process. health-disease of the demands of the Family Health teams. Thus, Social Work contributes significantly to the composition of teams, as well as being a strategic area in NASF AB.

Esta dissertação versa sobre o trabalho do assistente social na atenção básica, na particularidade do Núcleo Ampliado de Saúde da Família e Atenção Básica (NASF AB). Parte-se do pressuposto de que, enquanto trabalhador assalariado, o/a profissional de Serviço Social também sofre de modo visceral as transformações societárias e de suas implicações sobre a classe trabalhadora. Tomando como lócus de pesquisa os NASF AB do município de Natal/RN, tem por objetivo analisar o trabalho do/a assistente social do Núcleo Ampliado de Saúde da Família e Atenção Básica (NASF AB) destacando as particularidades e desafios da profissão no âmbito da atenção básica no município de Natal – RN. Pautando-se no método crítico dialético, buscamos problematizar, os caminhos trilhados em direção à renovação da Atenção Primária no Brasil no Brasil, amparando-se no processo de institucionalização da saúde como política pública e direito universal, bem como a inserção recente do Serviço Social neste espaço e as condições sob as quais essa inserção tem sido materializada. Como forma de subsidiar as análises teóricometodológicas, foram realizadas as seguintes técnicas de coleta de dados: a pesquisa de campo, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com assistentes sociais inseridas nos NASF AB, a revisão bibliográfica, que acompanhou todo o processo de realização deste estudo, e a pesquisa documental que envolveu a análise de documentos normativos relativos à questão pesquisada. Após análises, é possível apreender que o trabalho do assistente social no NASF AB é atravessado pela precarização, que se torna estrutural no capitalismo contemporâneo, expressando-se nesses espaços, dentre outras formas, no salário, na sobrecarga e excesso de demandas, além da falta de apoio institucional às equipes e dificuldades de construção de espaços para discussão dos casos. Sofre ainda as contrarreformas na política de saúde, que embora pública, tem-se configurado enquanto como política seletiva e focalizada, sobretudo, a atenção básica, que vem se apresentando enquanto “pacote de medidas aos pobres” que não acessam a saúde por meio do mercado. Nos espaços pesquisados, identificamos o/a assistente social enquanto especialista apoiador “diferenciado”, uma vez que, através da sua formação ancorada nos princípios do Movimento Brasileiro de Reforma Sanitária e Projeto Ético-Político, lhe permite compreender os determinantes sociais da saúde que incidem no processo saúdedoença das demandas das equipes de Saúde da Família.
