This qualitative and exploratory study have Environmental Autobiographies and all cognitive-affective processes related as object, aiming to explore the written expression of people-environment relation. Specifically, the comprehension of the written expression of affectivity is done. The study was documental based and 133 Environmental Autobiographies were analyzed using thematic content analysis. The data was organized into four themes: the play, the affectivity, the expression of the self and the time perspective. It was observed that the play phenomenon is a singular way to relate with the environment, associated with the Gibson's concept of affordances (1983). The affectivity is expressed through feelings related to places, and it is not possible to detect emotions in written reports due to its strong biological character. People use the autobiographies as a space of reflexion, changing their own ideas of self. However, the conflict among different types of self can explain distortions in reported remembrances. It was observed that the time perspective was represented as a linear process, marked by dates, environmental changes and sometimes by spatial distortions that can be explained by the access to the subjective time. The present study achieved its aims and some findings corroborate Elali and Pinheiro (2008) and Cooper-Marcus (1992, 2014).

As pessoas vivem os lugares, e estes, por sua vez, passam a viver nas pessoas a partir do processo de atribuição de significado. Processos de memória que envolvem a emoção transformam as experiências marcantes em lembranças. Este estudo qualitativo e exploratório tem como objeto Autobiografias Ambientais e os processos cognitivo-afetivos que abarcam, visando explorar a expressão escrita da relação pessoaambiente. Especificamente, é feita a compreensão da expressão escrita da afetividade. A pesquisa foi de natureza documental. Nela, foram analisadas 133 Autobiografias Ambientais por meio de análise de conteúdo temática. Os dados foram organizados em quatro temas: o brincar, a afetividade, a expressão do self e a perspectiva temporal. Foi observado que o fenômeno brincar se constitui em uma forma singular de se relacionar com o ambiente, se associando ao conceito de affordance de Gibson (1983). A afetividade é expressa via sentimentos com relação aos lugares, não sendo possível detectar emoções em relatos escritos, tendo em vista seu caráter fortemente biológico. As pessoas utilizam as autobiografias como um espaço para reflexão, alterando suas ideias de self. No entanto, o conflito entre diversos tipos de self pode explicar distorções nas lembranças relatadas. A perspectiva temporal foi observada como sendo de maneira linear, sendo marcada principalmente por datas e mudanças de ambiente, às vezes por distorções espaciais que podem ser explicadas pelo acesso ao tempo subjetivo.
