Here the space of the cangaço lampiônico4 is not understood as given and pre-established, but as a result of the games of power and of the multiple relations this cangaceiro has dealt with prominent subjects of the sertaneja5 politics in the context of the First Republic. The territory is perceived here in its procedural dimension making it possible to interpret Lampião's actions as producers of multiple territories, which have gained diverse spatial configurations, such as: networked territories, territories in zones or territories in movement. Three types of sources were explored in this research: the newspapers, which published news about Lampião, between the years 1920-1928; the police reports; and the memorialist bibliography about the cangaço and the band of Lampião. Starting from the problematization of these productions and the dialogue with the historiography of the theme, I try to understand how the multiple territorializations of the cangaceiro Lampião took place. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Este trabalho investiga as relações de poder e os processos de territorialização que o cangaceiro Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, mais conhecido como Lampião (1898-1938), construiu por meio do estabelecimento de uma rede de protetores e coiteiros e em contraponto a uma rede de opositores, entre os anos de 1920 e 1928, nos estados de Pernambuco, Alagoas, Paraíba, Ceará e Rio Grande do Norte. Aqui o espaço do cangaço lampiônico não é entendido como dado e preestabelecido, mas como resultado dos jogos de poder e das múltiplas relações que esse cangaceiro agenciou com sujeitos de destaque da política sertaneja dentro do contexto da chamada Primeira República. O território é aqui percebido em sua dimensão processual, possibilitando interpretar as ações de Lampião como produtoras de múltiplos territórios, que ganharam configurações espaciais diversas, como: territórios em rede, territórios em zona ou territórios em movimento. Três tipos de fontes foram explorados nesta pesquisa: os jornais, que divulgaram notícias sobre Lampião, entre os anos de 1920-1928; os relatos policiais; e a bibliografia memorialística sobre o cangaço e o bando de Lampião.
