description Reproductive behavior is an important factor in the evolution field. Starting from sexual strategies, we can analyze the repercussions of mate choices and what motivates them. Therefore, studies that seeks to understand the factors involved in this field and related environmental characteristic becomes so important. This research has two studies as focus. From a center that serves homeless people, we obtained a sample of 136 homeless men. In the first study, a sociodemographic characterization of the male population was performed from homeless men in the city of Natal / RN. Most of the sample claimed to be single and mean age were 37.5 years, ie men approaching middle age. We also observed a predominance of time of four years or more on the street. The expressive use of chemical and illicit substances was one of the main results in the sample. In addition, most men reported the conception of short-term relationships up to six months and long term being from four years or more. Finally, in study 2, we analyzed a relationship between anxious and avoidant attachment dimensions with risky behaviors and family unpredictability. We found as much as older they get, the lower is the avoidance of affective relationships, and also found out inversely proportional relationship between avoidance and anxiety. We also discovered positive correlation between unpredictability of resources and anxious attachment. The individuals were classified into imediate risks groups, in wich it was possible to observe a predominance of high averages of anxiety levels related to higher behavior risks. Finally, we hypothesized the possibility of mixed strategies related to sexual selection in homeless men. In summary, the present study demonstrates the importance of expanding responses on reproductive strategies in different groups and environmental situations involved.

A partir das estratégias sexuais podemos analisar as repercussões das escolhas e o que as motiva. Por isso, trabalhos que busquem compreender os fatores envolvidos neste âmbito e características ambientais relacionadas tornam-se tão importantes. Este trabalho tem dois estudos como foco. A partir de um centro de referência que atende diariamente pessoas em situação de rua, obtivemos uma amostra de 136 homens vivendo nas ruas. No primeiro estudo, realizamos uma caracterização sociodemográfica de parte da população masculina em situação de rua na cidade de Natal/RN. Nossa amostra contou com maioria alegando estado civil solteiro, média de idade de 37,5 anos, ou seja, homens se aproximando da meia idade. Observamos ainda a predominância do tempo de quatro anos ou mais na rua. O uso expressivo de substâncias lícitas e ilícitas foi um dos fatores observados na amostra. Além disso, os homens relataram, em sua maioria, a concepção de relações de curto prazo em até seis meses e longo prazo sendo a partir de quatro anos ou mais. Por fim, no estudo 2, analisamos a relação entre as dimensões de apego ansioso e evitativo com comportamentos de risco e a imprevisibilidade familiar. Encontramos que quanto maior a idade, menor é a evitação a relacionamentos afetivos, além de relação inversamente proporcional entre evitação e ansiedade. Também percebemos correlação positiva entre imprevisibilidade de recursos e a dimensão do apego ansioso. Os indivíduos foram separados em grupos de risco imediatos, nos quais foi possível observar predominância de médias altas de ansiedade relacionadas ao maior risco. Por fim, levantamos a possibilidade de adoção de estratégias mistas (curto e longo prazo) relacionadas à seleção sexual nos homens em situação de rua.
