Resumo:The process of transition of functionally differentiated students from the university context to the labour market is a challenging topic and investigative interest. In this regard, researchers begin to concentrate their efforts in the search for answers that can evolve to public policy actions, in order to insertion or inclusion in the competitive labor market. Such efforts include, for example, the process of transition from university to professional life; the accurate definition of the competency profile of this contingent of students, to meet the professional demands; the customization of the work environment; the managers' conception of the insertion and inclusion of this population at work and the perception of these university graduates regarding the corporate environment. Given this scenario, as the purpose of Higher Education is to train qualified subjects for the labor market, there is a hypothesis that stigmatization accompanies this disabled subject in the search for employment. Therefore, the general objective of this study is to delineate the profile of university graduates with disabilities, graduates in the period 2011- 2017. As specific objectives, the investigative proposal consists of: a) characterizing the graduates with disabilities participating in the research; b) evaluate the perception of these graduates regarding the type of academic education offered; c) to verify how they conceive their own insertion and labor inclusion in society. This is an exploratory and descriptive case study (GIL, 2000), with a qualitative and quantitative mixed approach (CRESWELL, 2010), through the validated instrument, which consisted of an online questionnaire, the Google Forms platform, including socio-demographic content. A planned interview was also conducted with the manager responsible for monitoring the graduates of the institution. Data were analyzed from the perspective of content analysis (BARDIN, 1979), based on descriptive statistics and following categories: academic background, inclusion in higher education and insertion in the labor market. During the temporal cut, 55 people with disabilities were formed at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, of which 32 answered the questionnaire. The university needs to be attentive to a formation that actually prepares the student to enter the job market, with the skills and abilities that their profession requires and considering the inherent diversity of the human condition. Furthermore, it should strategically think about the professional orientation of its students, preparing them for the transition and ensuring contact with the labour market and professional practices during the academic formation. It is also essential that the institutional policies for monitoring graduates are more articulated and effective, since they present weaknesses in their implementation. Such data obtained later will serve as indicators in the promotion of innovative changes. Moreover, their insertion in the labor market is an unprecedented guideline for engendering public policy actions inspired by inclusive ideologies.
