description This research aims to analyze the imaginary in the face of the supernatural, mainly with the Matinta Perera myth, based on beliefs and memories of residents of the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém do Pará, using an examination of the inhabitants' perceptions about space in who live and lived, from their memories and experiences. Therefore, it is important to go through the processes of urbanization and structure in this neighborhood, in order to better understand the landscape and its transformations. It is also necessary the argument about migratory processes from the hinterlands of Pará state Pará and other states to the city of Belém in order to insert a discussion on the interface between rural and urban in the Amazonian context, constructing an analysis of the redefined spaces idea; and the articulation of the elements of local fauna and flora in the supernatural myths, for the relational debate between landscape, memory, subjects and space. For this, I use the ethnographic method, with visits to two associations of Guamá neighborhood residents, AMI (Association of the Best Age of Guamá Residents) and ECNB (Cultural Spacre Our Library). For the conversations with the participants of these associations, I opted for open and semi-open interviews. The ethnography was conducted during the months of January and February of 2018, returning in October of the same year. As the main consideration from the end of this research, there is an understanding that the legends present in the popular imagination of the population were, to a great extent, influenced and influenced by the formation of spaces experienced by this population. This same imaginary has been transformed over the years through new information and experiences, as well as new knowledge and developments of religious beliefs and that the same city that once was the stage for apparitions of enchanted beings and visions in the public space, much for because of its intense urbanization, fails to present such characters that seem to “return” to their points of origin: small municipalities in the interior of the state.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo a análise do imaginário diante do sobrenatural, principalmente com o mito da Matinta Perera, a partir de crenças e memórias de moradores do bairro do Guamá, em Belém do Pará, utilizando um exame das percepções desses moradores sobre o espaço em que vivem, a partir de suas memórias e experiências. Para tanto, é importante percorrer os processos de urbanização e estrutura nesse bairro, para melhor entendimento do espaço paisagístico e suas transformações. Torna-se necessário também, a argumentação sobre processos migratórios do interior do estado do Pará e de outros estados, para a cidade de Belém, a fim de inserir a discussão um debate sobre a interface entre o rural e o urbano no contexto amazônico, construindo uma análise da ideia de espaços ressignificados; e a articulação dos elementos da fauna e flora local nos mitos sobrenaturais, para o debate relacional entre paisagem, memória, sujeitos e espaço. Para isso, utilizo-me do método etnográfico, com visitas às duas associações de moradores do bairro do Guamá, AMI (Associação da Melhor Idade dos Moradores do Guamá) e ECNB (Espaço Cultural Nossa Biblioteca). Para as conversas com os participantes dessas associações, optei pela realização de entrevistas abertas e semi-abertas. A pesquisa em campo foi realizada durante os meses de janeiro e fevereiro de 2018, com retorno em outubro do mesmo ano. Como principal consideração a partir do fim desta pesquisa, há a compreensão de que as lendas presentes no imaginário popular de parte da população foi, em grande medida, influenciada e influenciadora da formação dos espaços experienciados por essa população.
