description The expansion of technical (secondary level) and higher education in Seridó Potiguar was very important, not only for improving the educational levels of its population, but also for the population mobility in its territory, as well as for population exchanges with other regions. These factors contributed to new perspectives on migration. Taking such factors into account, this subject has gained importance, requiring more studies to the understanding of perspectives caused by this new reality. With this in mind, the daily flows of students of higher and secondary education, between 2000 and 2010, were traced, as well as the flows by reasons of work, during the same period, in order to obtain a visualization of how the displacements have changed. In addition, similar research has been conducted for more recent periods (2010 and 2017), but only in what concerns the flows of secondary level students and teachers who work in the same level. In this process the analysis of the evolution of educational levels of the population of Seridó was essential. Therefore, in order to carry out this project, the Demographic Censuses of IBGE (2000 and 2010), the School Censuses (2000 to 2017) and the Censuses of Higher Education (2000 to 2017) of Inep were the main sources of data. As a result, it was found that the number of people who had access to secondary level education and, especially, to higher education grew considerably. Furthermore, daily displacements due to work and study also increased, both in absolute and relative terms, however, with important differences. With regard to student flows, a greater diversity of origins and destinations is also highlighted. In brief, the results show an evolution in the integration of the municipalities of Seridó, a factor that contributes to the attraction of population in age of study (secondary and higher education levels) and of professionals working in such educational levels.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) A expansão e a interiorização do ensino superior e técnico de nível médio no Seridó Potiguar foram muito importantes, não somente para a melhoria dos níveis educacionais de sua população, mas também para a mobilidade populacional em seu território, bem como para as trocas populacionais com as demais regiões. Esses fatores contribuíram para novas perspectivas no que tange à migração. A partir de fatores como esses, essa temática tem ganhado importância, sendo necessário um maior número de estudos sobre essa nova realidade. Tendo isso em vista, neste trabalho, buscou-se observar e analisar os fluxos diários de estudantes dos ensinos superior e médio entre 2000 e 2010, bem como os fluxos por motivo de trabalho, durante o mesmo período, com o intuito da análise da forma como os deslocamentos se modificaram. Além disso, realizou-se semelhante investigação para períodos mais recentes (2010 e 2017) relacionados aos fluxos estudantis de nível médio e de docentes que ensinavam no mesmo nível. Nesse processo, o levantamento da evolução dos níveis educacionais da população do Seridó foi imprescindível. Dessa forma, para a realização dessa tarefa, os Censos Demográficos do IBGE (2000 e 2010), os Censos Escolares (2000 a 2017) e Censos da Educação Superior (2000 a 2017) do Inep foram as principais fontes de dados. Como resultado, verificou-se que o número de pessoas que passou a ter acesso ao ensino médio e, sobretudo, ao superior cresceu consideravelmente. Ademais, os deslocamentos diários por motivo de trabalho e estudo também cresceram, tanto em termos absolutos como relativos, no entanto, possuindo diferenças importantes. No que se refere aos fluxos de estudantes, também se destaca uma maior diversidade de origens e destinos verificadas nos resultados.
