Resumo:The present work was created to develop and implement a Potentially Significant Teaching Unit (PSTU) based on David Ausubel's Theory of Significant Learning and proposed by Marco A. Moreira. Our work also developed an educational gaming App to be applied during the implementation of the PSTU. Teaching units are, in general terms, didactic tools created to improve the teaching and learning process of a subject, using new techniques that may or may not make use of educational media. The PSTU developed in this work is focused on the teaching of Special Theory of Relativity (STR) specially in a theoretical approach, giving to the student conditions for a greater conceptual understanding with less emphasis on the mathematical approach. Using this way, what is learned in the classroom is closer to both physics and science in general, in fact, understanding a concept, the insertion of mathematics will at least be easier. The App TRE Einstein is the educational product of this work and it was developed to be applied in the PSTU, given that its major concern is a greater appreciation for the understanding and reflection on the physical concepts than the mathematization of them. However, the App is versatile enough to be easily used as part of any methodology for teaching relativity, from the most traditional methodology to the most contemporary methodology.
