Through the bibliographical review, we sought to understand the role of music education in these contexts and, thus, to construct a dialogical path capable of embracing the idiosyncrasies inherent in social projects that use music as a means of social insertion. It is configured as a qualitative research, which through the case study modality seeks to substantiate the relations between music education, music and education. It considers music as a phenomenon that, being used for educational purposes, needs to attend to the meanings of each context. Seeking to understand the origin and purpose of the socio-musical work that the Ilha de Música performs, the study presents a contextualization of the NGO, in which aspects related to the infrastructure and quality of life in the African community are discussed. In this sense, through field observations and interviews, the pedagogical conceptions and practices adopted in the institution were revealed. The results show, in addition to the synchronicity between the interviewees, a teaching of music committed to intuition, with theoretical knowledge and creativity, as well as, reveal that ethics, socialization, diversity, orality in music broadcasts, meanings of musical practices and commitment to the development of autonomy were formative characteristics that presented themselves in a more evident way. A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo identificar e compreender as dimensões formativomusicais que norteiam as ações educativas da ONG Ilha de Música, localizada no bairro da Redinha, na comunidade da África, na Zona Norte do município de Natal - RN. Por meio da revisão bibliográfica buscou-se compreender o papel da educação musical nesses contextos e assim construir um percurso dialógico capaz de abarcar as idiossincrasias inerentes aos projetos sociais que usam a música como um meio de inserção social. Configura-se como uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, que por meio da modalidade estudo de caso busca fundamentar as relações entre educação musical, música e educação. Considera-se a música como um fenômeno que, sendo para fins educacionais, precisa atender aos significados de cada contexto. Buscando compreender a origem e finalidade do trabalho sociomusical que a Ilha de Música realiza, o estudo apresenta uma contextualização da ONG, na qual são discutidos aspectos inerentes à infraestrutura e qualidade de vida na comunidade da África. Nesse sentido, por meio de observações de campo e da realização de entrevistas, foram reveladas as concepções e práticas pedagógicas adotadas na instituição. Os resultados demostram, além da sincronia entre as falas dos entrevistados, um ensino de música compromissado com a intuição, com o conhecimento teórico e com a criatividade, bem como revelam que a ética, a socialização, a diversidade, a oralidade nas transmissões musicais, os significados das práticas musicais e o compromisso com o desenvolvimento da autonomia, foram características das dimensões formativas que se apresentaram de forma mais evidente. 2019-04-08T22:16:40Z 2019-04-08T22:16:40Z 2018-12-10 masterThesis FONTES JÚNIOR, José da Silva.
