Description
Résumé:Due to increased life expectancy of the population, numerous studies are conducted to improve the quality of life and provide these people alternate repair and replacement of organs and tissues taumatizados mechanically or pathologies. It is then necessary to the constant development of biomaterials to optimize the dynamics of life. To develop these various types of synthetic materials are tested biogenos and, among them are those polymers which posssuem high biocompatibility. Thus, a natural polymer, chitosan More specifically, it has been shown to be an alternative that would have aroused great interest of scientists and technologists as functional polymeric materials. Studies prove their properties in regeneration of tissues, protection from microbial attack and the passage of water vapor, air, and has high antiseptic power. Chitosan is the deacetylated chitin component, more biopolymer found in nature after cellulose, is present in the cell wall of fungi, crustaceans (shrimp, crab, lobster). The extraction process consists of demineralization (HCl 7% and 10%), deproteinization (NaOH - 7% and 10% - low concentration) and deacetylation (NaOH - 40% and 50% - high concetração). Based on this, this research aims to extract chitosan from the exoskeleton of the lobster - Palinurus elephas, and to characterize it. Were performed XRD, SEM and FTIR. After testing it was concluded that chitosan was characterized extracted according to the literature discussed.
