Aiming to read the poems of Noémia de Sousa in relation to aspects of negritude, the corpus extracted from Sangue Negro (2016), included: Negra, Poema and A Billie Holiday, cantora. During the initial phase, the poetic texts were analyzed by exploring their structural elements. Then, fundamental questions were discussed to substantiate the interpretations of the poems such as Postmodernity and negritude in order to reveal the dialogical relation between the selected theories and the poems. For theoretical and methodological questions the present research used a qualitative-interpretative basis and, regarding the nature of the used sources, the research was bibliographical. Considering the purpose of the research, the method applied was the bibliographical review, to select and analyse the material. This scientific study is inserted in the study area of Comparative Literature, in particular related to the Modern and Postmodern Poetics. According to this line of research, the following theorists were used as theoretical background: Bhabha (1998), Césaire (2010), Fanon (2008), Hall (2005), Munanga (2009) and Spivak (2010). In conclusion, after analysing Noémia de Sousa‟s selected poems, it was possible to observe that, through their colloquial and musical diction, reflects and problematizes two large social exclusions: racial and cultural.
