Resumo: | From the expanded understanding of the concept of health, several strategies have
been implemented over the years, both in training and in the practice of health
professionals. Thus, Interprofessional Education (IPE) emerges, considered an
innovative strategy capable of preparing students and professionals to develop
collaborative practices in order to guarantee the integrality of health care. However,
there are still many challenges to be overcome, ranging from curricular issues to new
work interactions, exchange of experiences and knowledge, respect for adversity and,
above all, greater integration with the medical team. However, there are still many
challenges to be overcome, ranging from curricular issues to new work interactions,
exchange of experiences and knowledge, respect for adversity and, above all, greater
integration with the medical team. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to
understand the students' perception of the Medical and Multiprofessional Residences
on Inter professional work developed among they in a maternity school. This is a
descriptive, exploratory, qualitative type of case-study. The project was approved by
the Research Ethics Committee (UFRN). Participants in the research were 20 medical
residency students in gynecology and obstetrics, in neonatology, and multiprofessional
residency. Students have been working for at least 10 months in a maternity school at
the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, which is the inclusion criterion. Data
collection was performed from December 2016 to January 2017, using an identification
form and semi-structured interviews, using a previously constructed script. The
interviews were transcribed, organized and codified in order to group the reports that
present similarities between opinions and perceptions. Subsequently, the transcriptions
were analyzed through the categorical theme proposed by Bardin. After analyzing the
material, four categories emerged, namely: Interprofessional work concept; Importance
of interprofessional work; Interprofessional approach among medical and
multiprofessional residences; weaknesses for effective professional practice
interprofessional. The results suggest the existence of some IPE initiatives promoted
among residences, however, Inter professional experiences between medical and
multiprofessional residents occur only in some fields of practice. In other fields,
experiences do not develop or happen in a non-legitimized way. Thus, there are many
challenges to be overcome so that the collaborative practice among medical and
multiprofessional residents becomes effective, in view of the residences being able to
qualify health professionals capable of acting in an interprofessional manner, with a
view to integral health care of people, families and the community. In this context, an
Action Plan for the Promotion of Interprofessional Practice of the Maternidade Escola
Januário Cicco was elaborated, which contemplates actions that involve: changes in
teaching strategies, reorientation of existing multiprofessional activities, insertion of
Inter professional practices, and the creation of a training workshop that can be applied
to both residents and preceptors. |
