Resumo: | This dissertation presents an approach on the game Mastermind for a second year
Brazilian High School class, in the Mathematics Laboratory of the State school in full
time Winston Churchill, in the year 2017. To achieve it, we will present the context of
the teacher, of the school and of the students. We will expose to the theoretical basis,
history, rules and versions of the game Mastermind and the mathematical content used
in this application, the Rule of Product principle. We will shown how the planning and
execution of the activity were done, finishing with a discussion on the survey applied to
the students. For the construction of this work, bibliographic, documentary and
experimental research were done. As a suggestion, a list of exercises is proposed to
teachers, with questions that address the content of the Rule of Product Principle, drawn
mainly from the National High School Exam, from Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática
in Public Schools and from the second year mathematics book of the Brazilian High
School, by Gelson Iezzi et al., from the year of 2016, Mathematics: science and
applications. It has been verified that working with classroom games is important and
interesting because it makes the student understand better the concept addressed in the
classroom, even if the game occurs before or after the presentation of this concept,
besides generating other skills in that subject, individual, and also it allows the teacher
to present a class different from traditional chalkboard and chalk, leaving behind the
daily routine that has been taking over our classrooms for a long time. |
